Crash Barrels

Crash Barrels are used for temporary safety in areas of road and bridge construction, sporting events such as road car racing and in areas where accidents have been prone to occur, and reconstruction is planned.
MATERIALS:
The barrels are manufactured from high-density polyethylene plastics, with UV stabilization, hindered-amine light stabilizer. Barrels are manufactured with three layer structure, the centre layer is formed using a chemical blowing agent, and the outer and inner layers are coloured yellow using dry blend yellow colorant.
The barrels are covered with a plastic lid and have a lifting flange to attach a lifting ring to move the barrels. Three sizes are available large holds 960kg of sand, medium holds 640kg and multi 320kg. The multi barrel is assembled on site by locking two different sizes of half-barrels together and filling to one of the three different fill heights.
CONSTRUCTION:The barrels are roto-moulded and have minimal variation in weight, dimensions, physical properties and colour. There are different array layouts of barrels from 50kph to 110kph. All arrays of barrels are tested to NCHRP 350. Contact VMSI for test results. | ![]() |
